What does it mean to be a community? It’s a question we ask ourselves a lot here at Peloton, and the answer varies, but one thing that always holds true is our shared commitment to empowering people to be the best versions of themselves through fitness and motivation. As this unprecedented global situation evolves, we are seeing its effects reverberate throughout the world and throughout our Member community. We know we have an opportunity and responsibility to support our Members and our heroes on the frontlines keeping us safe, so we wanted to share with you the various ways we’re giving back.

The Member Relief Fund

With entire industries on pause, thousands of Members are feeling an unexpected financial strain and may be forced to pause or cancel their subscriptions. From day one, we have strived to put our Members first and help them make fitness a supportive part of their everyday routine. That’s why we are pledging $1 million to cover two months of Membership fees to keep our Members healthy and connected during these challenging times. This fund will allow us to support thousands of Members who are facing financial hardship in the wake of this unprecedented situation by offering two-month subscription waivers for those in need.

All Members in the US, UK, Canada, and Germany who have an existing Peloton Membership to the Bike or Tread are eligible to submit their story and be considered for a two-month waiver. Priority will be given to Members who have lost their jobs or are unable to work due to the financial effects of COVID-19, including but not limited to people working in hospitality, food service, arts and entertainment, and small businesses. To respect the privacy of our Members, submissions to the Member Relief Fund are confidential and will not be shared publicly. Submissions cannot be made anonymously or on behalf of others.

The Comeback

Through the first year of the US Comeback program, we have seen incredible stories of change and transformation grow and deepen our community, and we’re proud to have been able to support the journeys of many healthcare professionals at both the individual and organizational level already. We’ve heard from so many frontline workers how important exercise is for their mental health and stress relief as well as their physical endurance in extraordinary conditions, and we are honored to provide support and motivation to those working around the clock to keep our communities safe and healthy.

To show our admiration and support for those on the frontlines, we are extending our existing Comeback program to support an additional 100 Bikes specifically for healthcare workers and hospitals. If you know of a healthcare professional, frontline volunteer, or hospital that would benefit from having access to a Peloton Bike, all you have to do is tell us their story and why you think Peloton is the right tool to support them on their journey.

The Food Bank for New York City

As a company proud to have our roots in New York City, which has been disproportionately impacted by this crisis, we believe in the importance of our broader communities in need. Our global community came together on the Leaderboard from March 21 - 22, and took over half a million classes, generating a $500,000 donation to the city’s major hunger-relief organization. The Food Bank For New York City will generate 2.5 million meals from that donation for those who need it most, ensuring that New Yorkers have access to the food that keeps them healthy and strong during these uncertain times.
