Introducing Peloton Verzuz: a Musical Celebration

Everything you need to know about our year-long partnership.

In March of 2020, when the world stopped going to gyms and concerts and clubs, fitness and music came home in new, more intimately personal ways that united people across the globe. None, perhaps, more personal than Verzuz. Founded by industry legends Swizz Beatz and Timbaland, Verzuz is a musical revolution that’s simultaneously deeply individual and enhanced by the community experience. Each event is an epic musical showdown between two of the most accomplished singers and producers across genres (all taking place live on Instagram, no less), bringing the world unprecedented access to legends alongside millions of live viewers—more than could ever fit in a single arena.

Friendly competition is in our DNA. From a tight race with a companion on the Leaderboard to pursuing a personal record, nothing lights our soul on fire quite like the thrill of the chase.

...Except for maybe one thing.

Music.

With the pulse of the beat, we find our stride, our flow, our cadence; we reach new heights and go deeper within ourselves than we ever thought possible; we remember the best times of our lives and make new memories forged in sweat—and we do it all with the Peloton community by our side.

We couldn't help but recognize the parallels between our two brands, and wonder about the potential to come together to celebrate fitness, music and fandom in a new Peloton class experience. Today, we’re telling you: It’s happening.

Just like how music brings us together across genres and generations, we’re uniting the Verzuz and Peloton experiences into an unmissable series of classes throughout our year-long partnership. Alongside Swizz Beatz and Timbaland themselves, get ready to sweat to the tune of head-to-head musical celebrations featuring iconic past Verzuz match-ups—all from your Peloton App, Bike or Tread—and keep reading to find out how to show up on the Leaderboard representing your favorite artists with Tags. So far, we've rocked out in these epic Verzuz series:

  • Brandy vs. Monica

  • Swizz Beatz vs. Timbaland

  • Alicia Keys vs. John Legend

Count yourself in for our latest Verzuz classes featuring Rick Ross vs. 2 Chainz:

  • 7/21 at 7:30 PM ET: 45 min Verzuz Ride with Alex Toussaint

  • 7/23 at 10:00 AM ET: 30 min Verzuz Strength with Chase Tucker (on demand)

  • 7/24 at 10:00 AM ET: 60 min Verzuz Bootcamp with Jess Sims

Whether you’ve tuned in to Verzuz since the first event or can’t wait to find out what everyone’s been talking about, you don’t want to miss the chance to be part of the action. You should also know that the playlists in these classes go hard from the start and never let up, because we’re only dealing with the best-of-the-best catalogs in the business. In case you’re into that.

Community is integral to the Peloton and Verzuz experiences, so naturally, Peloton Verzuz classes will be a celebration of coming together … with a little friendly rivalry. Bring your fandom to your workout and hype your favorite artists through Tags on the Leaderboard. Add the Tag #VerzuzRickRoss or #Verzuz2Chainz to your Peloton profile (find out how here) and show up ready to support your side, sing and, of course, sweat. (If it sounds like a concert in your own home—you got it right.) Make sure you don’t miss the chance to represent, because we’ll tally up the total number of Peloton Members who showed up for each artist with Tags, and see where our community stands. If you can’t decide before the class which artist to put your support behind, we respect that! During the class, notice if you vibe with one artist’s songs more than the other’s, and add their team Tag to your profile at the end. As long as you’re repping the Tag by the end of the month, your vote will be counted!

We know you’re going to have the time of your life in our Peloton Verzuz classes, but the party continues on social media. Share your stats with your friends after the class (and see if you can convince them to join your team), make sure you’re following @onepeloton on Instagram to join the conversation with fellow Members and find out which artist comes out on top. We’ll also be sharing all the details for Peloton Verzuz classes to come, so stay tuned!
