Seven years ago, a small group of Peloton Members decided to travel to New York City to meet up in person and take live in-studio cycling classes with their favorite instructors. What began as a small, informal gathering has since evolved into one of the most highly anticipated—and largest scale—global events in Peloton history. (Read on for more about the story of Peloton Homecoming.)This year's virtual Homecoming weekend is no exception. We've got two days of epic live classes, along with an innovative lineup of panels and announcements planned for May 13 and 14. So clear your schedule, mark your calendars, and get ready to take the ride (or run, or flow) of a lifetime.

To help us count down, we asked the Peloton community to share their favorite moments and memories from previous Homecoming celebrations. Here's what they had to say.

1. You get to interact with your favorite Peloton instructors.

“I attended the last live Homecoming in 2019. It was a big event with two days of lectures, and you got to take one Bike, Tread, or yoga class. I was able to meet and speak with the instructors throughout the weekend. All the instructors were so kind and gracious, and they didn't rush you at all. I also went to Jess King and Matty Maggiacomo's lectures, and they were excellent. It was a blast, and I hope they bring it back [in person] next year!”—Claudine M., Flora Park, New York

2. There’s so much to learn about.

“Peloton 2021 Homecoming was the best virtual event I ever attended! Being able to hear from ‘GOATs’ like Scout Bassett, Usain Bolt, and Allyson Felix was amazing. Getting to hear their stories about how they train and take care of their bodies is something everyone should apply in their lives. One of my favorite quotes was, ‘If you have a body, you are an athlete.’”—Alexander C., Phoenix, Arizona

3. You get to embrace the community.

“I was fortunate to be part of the very first Home Rider Invasion, which was the predecessor to Homecoming that occurred seven years ago. That first one was created and organized by riders. There were 24 of us. Most of us arrived on Wednesday night, rode together on Thursday with Jenn Sherman and were joined on the ride by John and Jill Foley! We all went for dinner and drinks afterwards and then returned home on Friday. There were several more HRIs before Peloton corporate decided to organize and sponsor one about five years ago. And the rest is history! Peloton has changed a lot and come a long way since then. The small feel of those early days is just a memory now, but Peloton is still a great company. Back to the party!”—John B., Minneapolis, Minnesota

4. It’s the perfect time for some friendly competition.

“I have never attended Homecoming in person, only virtually. I really liked the instructor-led sessions, and the session last year with Allyson Felix was very interesting. It was fun to ride with Allyson afterwards too. They said that we could ride with 'special guests,' so I tried it. She was likely riding light or using it as a recovery ride, but it was very motivating to see that my output was better than hers!”—Michelle S., Winnipeg, BC, Canada

5. You make lasting memories.

“Three years ago, we were headed to Homecoming weekend. What an experience! I rode with Ally Love and met Alex Toussaint, Hannah Corbin, Christine D’Ercole, and Andy Speer. It was also the last time I spent quality time with my mommy. We saw Frozen on Broadway before she got sick. She died last June, and she always commented on my Peloton legs. All this to say, I love Peloton for so many reasons. Until next time...”—Jan G., Las Vegas

6. Consider the weekend an all-access pass.

“I got my Peloton Bike in January 2017 and decided to skip Home Rider Invasion/Homecoming in 2017 and 2018. In 2019, FOMO got the better of me, and I bought tickets. I was surprised to see how small the studio was in real life. After that, there were all of the instructor meet-and-greets. I got to ride in the studio with Matt Wilpers and was totally starstruck! I feel so fortunate to have gotten to meet so many instructors in person. Finally, on Sunday morning, I went back to the studio for a ride with Denis Morton. It happened to be my birthday, and I got a shoutout! That was probably the coolest moment of the weekend.” —Alexis M., Middletown, Rhode Island

7. You might find your people.

“I got my Peloton Bike in September of 2018 and joined several Peloton-inspired Facebook groups. I made instant friends with a bunch of people who liked the same instructors as me. When 2019 Homecoming was announced, I immediately got tickets for myself and my wife. One of the groups I belonged to planned a private, catered meetup at a rooftop bar in Manhattan. There were at least 30 of us there. Christine D'Ercole and former Peloton instructor Jennifer Jacobs were invited and showed up to hang out with us. This was the very first time that I met my Peloton friends in real life, and it was an amazing experience that I will never forget. My wife and I did our very first live studio ride with Denis that weekend. We also did meet-and-greets with a lot of the instructors. That weekend really solidified the Peloton experience for me. I've stayed friends with a lot of the people I met that weekend, and I've also made a lot more!”—Alon N., Baltimore, Maryland
